”The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.“ Lamentations 3:22-25 ESV
This week has been PVT, where all the parents come and see their racers for a week. Meanwhile, my parents weren’t able to come because they both had surgeries done so they’re both at home recovering. While it is sad that I haven’t been able to have my parents come, I know that the Lord is yet to show me something through this experience. When I invited my parents, I actually never felt peace about it in my heart. Something about it just wasn’t sitting right with me about it. When they told me that they weren’t able to come, I actually felt peace. It’s weird but amazing how God works like that.
For this past week, I have been the with 8 others on my squad whose parents did not attend PVT. We were working with dar para dar which happens to be the ministry that my team, team yada is going to be working with for the reminder of our time in Guatemala. We got to do work on prayer mountain, which has such an amazing story and vision that they have for the mountain that I am yet to learn more about. I am so excited for my team to be working with this ministry, it’s going to be so good for us individually and as a team.
Updates on the decisions I mentioned previously in the blog before!
Summer after world race: I am working at Pine Valley for the summer in PA!
Fall this year: I figured out yesterday that I got accepted into CGA!! It worked out to where enough people declined or deferred to where they could accept everybody! And I know that a good handful of people from X squad applied and now are all accepted! It’s going to be so cool to be living with this community for basically for the rest of the year.
Next week we are going to be going into debrief, which is a week of remembrance of what we’ve done within the past two months, reflecting on our experiences, and discussing what our plans are moving forward. I’m ready for a week of rest and reflection but also so excited to move forward in Guatemala.
Since the last two weeks in South Africa, I have been going on a dairy free diet in hopes of alleviating my constant nausea and stomach issues. Ever since I’ve been dairy free, I haven’t been nauseous! Praise God!
Prayer requests: prayers for our squad as we are all navigating a new country and a new culture. Prayers for sobriety over the country of Guatemala. Pray that Guatemala will have receptive hearts on the message that we’re trying to share. To Him be the glory forever and ever, amen 🙏🏼.
